One
Sunday June 14th, 2026
Day one this year starts with joining a local church for a wonderful service in spanish. Though many of us don’t speak spanish it was a very good service and Google Translate was our friend! Later in the afternoon we met up Dotsero language school for a “school fair” that included booths created by students to teach us about parts of Guatemalan culture, traditions, and features of the local San Raymundo area.

Two
Monday June 15th, 2026
Concrete day. Today is considered the most physical day because it requires leveling the site, moving materials if necessary, building the forms, and finally mixing and pouring the concrete. It is a all hands on deck situation! Before all of this, however, we begin with a prayer for the family and for the house we are about to build.

Three
Tuesday June 16th, 2026
While not as physically demanding as yesterday, many hands do make light work of the framing, siding, and roof rafters that are built today. Today can be the most rewarding, next to dedication, because the house really begins to take shape.
One thing that stood out is the family for which we are building the home for has been totally involved in the process. Its a huge blessing and keep an eye out for them in the photos.

Four
Wednesday June 17th, 2026
Due to how smoothly the previous day went we were able to both finish the construction of the home and dedicate it to the family. For most trips this does not happen. In the photos you will see the tin roof be installed, doors and windows installed, electrical, as well as move in the new bunk beds, mattresses, and water filtration system that we have provided for the family.

Five
Thursday June 18th, 2026
Because the build went so smooth we had the whole day today to work on projects at Liberty Christian Academy. Our time at LCA started with a short presentation about how our help directly affects the staff, students, and the community. Afterwards, we toured the school as well as the new piece of property next door they purchased, currently it’s a chicken farm but there are big plans for it!
Some of the projects we completed for the school include building tables, fixing drainage pipes, installing new gutters, and more.

Friday June 19th, 2026
Fun Day!
This year the team members took a vote and decided to split the day in Antigua; the first half will be zip-lines followed by shopping downtown.
